Year 9 Reading for Enjoyment - Home Use

Let's be honest. Some of you already love to read and need no extra encouragement. You'll fly ahead and read a ton of amazing books. But, we also know that some of you don't enjoy reading. Maybe it's because you find it hard to sit still and concentrate, you get bored, you haven't found any books you like or you just find reading really hard. That's okay. We get it.

The thing is, no matter whether you're keen on reading now or not, we want you to keep giving reading a go. In this course, we'll give you reasons why reading is good for you. We'll also share lots of tips and things to think about when you're finding, choosing and responding to what you read.

What you'll learn

In Year 9 Reading for Enjoyment, you'll learn how to:

• find books to read that you're interested in
• choose between different types of fiction and non-fiction
• set up a reading log
• write responses to what you read.
