Taku Haerenga 5 - School Use

Taku Haerenga 5 | My Career Journey Year 13 is an online course designed for Year 13 students. It aligns with both New Zealand Curriculum Key Competencies and Career Development Benchmarks. It is between 10 and 15 hours of learning and is perfect for implementing across the school in form time or as a three week unit.  

Taku Haerenga | My Career Journey helps prepare students, not just for work today but how work will change in their lifetime. In this course students prepare for life when they leave school. 

What you'll learn

1. Looking back – where students consider their previous career goals and consider whether these have changed as well as considering what triumphs and challenges they have had to overcome. 
2. Looking forward – where students use the insights from the previous section to build a career pathway. 
3. Start the clock – where students create a 24-month plan to help them focus on what they need to achieve. 
4. My mind growth mindset – where students learn and develop a growth mindset and how this is important for feedback and growth. 
5. Building and managing your brand – where students learn about their ‘brand’ and how to present who you are and what you're about to others – online, in writing and in person. 

Although this course does not contain assessment, it has been designed to support the teaching of selected Unit Standards. If they wish, teachers will be able to collect the work developed through this course as evidence to support the assessment of this Unit Standard.
