This resource covers the things you'll need to know and be able to do for the NCEA Level 2 Achievement Standard 91153 (Biology 2.1) Carry out a practical investigation in a biological context, with supervision.
What you'll learn
In this resource you'll learn to:
- review the basic process and skills you, as a developing scientist, need to follow when it comes to planning, carrying out and reporting on a practical investigation in biology
- practise these skills on some 'example' investigations.
This resource follows on from:
- the Level 1 Science Investigations Skills resource where you were introduced to the basics of how to plan, carry out and report a science skills investigation
- 90925 Practical investigations in Biology where you learned some additional biological techniques you might need to know for biological investigations (e.g. transect and quadrat sampling, culturing micro-organisms, preparing slides for and using a microscope) as well as common sources of error when it comes to biology investigations and how to avoid or minimise these.
You should work through those two resources before completing this one.
LearnWell Digital resources put the learner at the centre. Using almost any device, students can easily work at a pace that suits them through interactive, scaffolded learning and activities.
